Six Months On and PTS Celebrates Proven Success
23 March 2009
Leading plumbing and heating merchant PTS is celebrating a successful first six months at its Renewable Energy Branch in Aylesford, as it reports overwhelmingly positive feedback from customers and the sale of over 300 heat pumps.
The branch, which was opened in September 2008, provides a dedicated resource for all PTS customers wanting advice on green technology and offers a more efficient service to those already installing these products. The branch also contains an auditorium for manufacturers to hold training courses and to keep installers up to date on the latest legislation and technology hitting the market.
Paul Johnson, Branch Manager at PTS Aylesford, said: "The initial response from people visiting our branch is usually ‘wow, this isn't like any other trade facility'! They've been impressed that we can educate them as well as provide the right stock and the option to deliver. The branch has not only provided an expert resource for installers but a facility for new customers such as housing associations and house builders to use. The demand for exhaust air units has been especially high as they allow customers in this sector to meet Level 3 of the Code for Sustainable Homes, whilst the market for solar heating, under floor heating and water harvesting is beginning to come into its own.
"We've also been working to make a difference in the local area and been in touch with to the many schools in and around Aylesford. We are building some strong relationships and I've even become a school governor enabling me to communicate the benefits of renewable energy directly to the children. We are holding a number of events throughout 2009 in our dedicated training room. This will hopefully become an even more vital resource for customers, manufacturers and local groups as the year progresses."
